My name is Scott Van Den Elzen, and I'm the founder of Audio Idea. In 1992, I moved to the Eugene/Springfield area
in Oregon. Around the same time, some of my friends started a community outreach program (it's now called
Free People.) Early Free People outreaches provided hot meals and clothing to the needy in Eugene and Springfield.
Within about a year, Free People were partnering with several musicians to add free concerts to the outreaches.
I mixed sound for many of these events using whatever equipment the bands and I could scrounge up.
In 1994, I had the "Audio Idea."
Wouldn't it be great to have a PA system dedicated for use at community events?
The bands and I have continued offering free concerts at community events for many years. The events have
grown in both size and frequency. In 2004, I was finally able to realize my dream and purchase a complete system,
fulfilling the "Audio Idea" I had ten years before.
